Leonie Cooper has lived in Furzedown since 2003, and has been actively involved in many of the community groups that make Furzedown such a vibrant community, such as the Furzedown Community Network and the Furzedown Project. Leonie has helped set up the Friends of Tooting Common. Leonie is the London Assembly Member for Wandsworth and works at City Hall with the Mayor of London.
Judi Gasser has lived in Furzedown for fifteen years and is involved in all sorts of local activities including the Furzedown Festival, Furzedown Pantomime and Friends of Tooting Common. Her three girls went to Wandsworth schools and she was a governor at Chestnut Grove. Currently she is working on setting up a local health information group and developing the Furzedown Rec bowling club as a community space. Judi loves: Tooting Common and the Lido; and the Rose and Crown pub quiz on a Sunday night.
Candida Jones has been a councillor in Furzedown for four years, and has served as the Labour Group’s Deputy Leader for two years. She has worked in Parliament for Sadiq and currently works for Alf Dubs. Before politics Candida was a journalist. She has campaigned on a range of issues from school cuts and gender equality, to housing and flytipping. Candida is a Mum and a Remainer. Her desert island song would be Get Up Off Our Knees by the Housemartins and her book would be Rohinton Mistry’s A Fine Balance.
